Dr. Jon R. Ewig has provided oral and maxillofacial surgery care to Beavercreek and the greater Dayton area since 1991. This follows 11 years as an Air Force dentist/oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He earned his undergraduate Biology degree at Westminster College in Pennsylvania, and his dental degree from Temple University. Postgraduate residencies at U.S.A.F. Medical Center Wright-Patterson and U.S.A.F. Medical Center Wilford Hall in San Antonio qualified him to successfully complete board certification. The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the highest accrediting body for this specialty. Annually attending continuing education courses enable Dr. Ewig to stay at the forefront of his specialty. This allows him to offer the finest full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgical care to his patients.
Dr. Ewig has a strong commitment to serving our community. In addition to his private practice, he maintains active staff privileges at Miami Valley Hospital, where he has served in several roles, including the Medical Director for maxillofacial trauma for 23 years. He has been appointed Assistant Clinical Professor at Wright State University Medical School, where he is involved in teaching surgical residents. He is also an attending surgeon at Miami Valley Hospital Dental General Practice Residency Program. Dr. Ewig serves as an elder at Hillside Chapel and participates in overseas medical missionary ventures annually.
Dr. Ewig resides on a farm outside Xenia with his wife, Carolyn. They have three grown children; Erin, Benjamin, and Joseph. He enjoys running, bicycling, backpacking and being a grandad.
